"Big Seven" will support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression for as long as necessary.
On the initiative of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the G7, Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni The leaders of the “Big Seven” made a statement in connection with the approach of the thousandth day of Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The G7 countries assured Ukraine of unwavering support for its defense against the aggressor for as long as necessary.
This is stated in a statement published on Saturday, November 16.
“We, the leaders of the Group of Seven (G7), reaffirm our continued support for Ukraine for as long as it takes. We stand in solidarity in supporting its struggle for sovereignty, freedom, independence, territorial integrity and its “restoration,” the document says.
The “Big Seven” also acknowledged that not only the Ukrainian people suffer from Russian aggression, but also “vulnerable people around the world” .
“After 1,000 days of war, we acknowledge the enormous suffering that the people of Ukraine have endured. Despite these difficulties, Ukrainians have demonstrated unrivaled resilience and determination in defending their land, culture and people,” the G7 leaders said.
They stressed that Russia remains the “only obstacle” to a just and lasting peace. Therefore, the G7 countries intend to increase economic pressure on Russia through tough sanctions, export controls and other effective measures.
Recall that it will be difficult for US President-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate on the war in Ukraine, since both leaders underestimate each other.
