Elin Blake (Ethlin Blake) celebrated the anniversary, which brought together her many relatives and friends, at a hotel in downtown Kingston. The long-liver was wearing a festive blue dress and hat. The main treat of the celebration was a large cake with candles. “I feel great and thank God for letting me live to this date. Not everyone is allowed to live to be 100 years old! ” Blake boasted.
She said that she had been a parishioner of the church all her life and stopped attending services only with the outbreak of a new coronavirus pandemic in 2020.
The retired woman has worked for the Jamaican Ministry of Health since the 1950s. Later, she was engaged in a program to provide the population with baby food, and her last place of work was the Nutrition Package company.
Despite his advanced age, Blake takes care of herself and prepares food. She always finds something to do and believes that God did not let her live to be 100 years old so that she was messing around. “My relatives don't like it when I do something myself! They think I'm already old! But God gives me health and strength – it's stupid not to use it! ” – said the long-liver.
Earlier, a woman from the United States celebrated her 112th birthday at a car parade and also revealed the secret of longevity. When asked what she eats to maintain her health, she said: “That's it! I don't stick to diets and eat whatever I want. “
