Celtic cheers against Ferencvaros
Peter Stöger and Ferencvaros Budapest have conceded a 2-0 defeat in the Europa League at Celtic Glasgow.
Due to scheduling problems at UEFA, the game was played in Glasgow on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., but Celtic Park was still full.
For a long time it looked like a point sharing, because the Hungarians with the red-white-red coach left almost nothing on the defensive. However, Ferencvaros slipped through a counterattack.
Kyogo Furuhashi pushed in the ice cold in the 57th minute to make it 1-0. Then Celtic pressed the second goal, Callum McGregor missed a penalty.
Budapest had to do more and more for the offensive, so the Scots made it 2-0: David Turnbull poked the ball in the 81st minute on the third attempt.
Celtic is making up ground on Leverkusen and Betis Sevilla (both six points) in Group G, while Ferencvaros is last with three defeats.
